Narrows Brewing Co. opened in July 2014 next to the Narrows Marina, near Day Island. Head brewer Joe Walts and six owners run the brewery operation, including a 100-seat taproom with one of th ebest views of any taproom in the South Sound. With a second story view, the taproom is divided into two separate rooms connected at the same bar, lending itself to an L-shaped arrangement. Reclaimed wood from the marina is used in the structure and décor, and while there is wine, beer and food from Boathouse 19, there is no liquor.

Six beers are on tap, three regular brews and three seasonals or specialty beers, depending on the mood of Walts, who moved here from a craft brewery in Madison, Wis.

Live music, trivia nights and special events are common.
