Saturday, Jan. 23: West Seattle Pleasure Club

The New Frontier Lounge

By Rev. Adam McKinney on January 20, 2010

Ladies and gentlemen, hold on to your panties or boxers. Guess who's coming to town. Guess. Wrong! It's the West Seattle Pleasure Club, and besides having maybe the best band name in history, they are masterful purveyors of underwear-destroying soul and funk. I dare (dare!) you to attend one of their shows and keep your super square toes from a-tappin'. Listen, four-eyes, imagine that you're a 90-pound weakling at the beach. You're making your dorky sandcastle, when all of a sudden a stud like me comes along and kicks sand straight past your nerdy glasses and right into your nerdy little eyes. What do you - metaphorically - do? Listen to some West Seattle Pleasure Club, that's what - and tell me that some hair doesn't start sprouting from your ever-manlier chest. Straight up.
