Thursday, June 24: Congratulations

The 4th Avenue Tavern

By Rev. Adam McKinney on June 23, 2010

Congratulations are a hard band to track down. As I pursued them this week, to no avail, I started to think they might not even exist. Sort of like when I took those pills that one time and I was convinced Tricky was not a real band. Long story short, Tricky is a real band. And I think Congratulations is, too. Listening to the band, though, it still feels like my dreaming mind may have created Congratulations out of an assembly line of several other bands. And then I'm left wondering, "Why is Thom Yorke singing lead for this jazz combo, and is that Garth Hudson on the piano?" I'll look it up in the morning; but there's no telling what I'll find.
