Nothing says the day after Thanksgiving like a night of piano music. That's why the ninth "Evening of Keys" drops Friday, Nov. 29, at Louie G's Pizzeria in Fife.

Raymond Hayden of Maurice the Fish Records launched the concert series after he noticed the lack of collaboration between local keyboardists. Many of you have likely noticed that guitar players and their respective bands travel to many of the same venues and shows together - but the same cannot always be said for those on keys. Hayden established the Evening of Keys series to correct this great injustice.

The series began at the Mandolin Café. Since the once-beloved café is now a (admittedly delicious) sushi restaurant, the shows have moved north to Louie G's. This is a natural transition, though, as Louie G's has become the venue of choice for many musicians - specifically all-ages bands.

Friday's performance will feature headliner Brooke Lizotte. A native of the Seattle area who has spent the majority of the last two decades in Los Angeles, Lizotte has returned to the Northwest and to the place where he grew up around some of our area's best musicians. In addition to being one of Seattle's most respected pianists, he has also done a great deal of composing and producing music for television and film. Singer Krista Haugland, who will travel from Iowa for the performance, will join him. Other performers on the bill include: Doug W. Skoog (Blues Redemption and Crazy Texas Gypsies); Jonathon Sindelman; Mark Bittler (Bump Kitchen); Gabe Mcpherson (Solo, Doxology); Anthony Ciarochi (Tin Man, Aury Moore Band, Stoneage Thriller); Hayden (Nolan Garrett Band, Monsters in the Dark); and Lee Gregory (Strangely Alright).

The wide variety of players on the bill will surely bring a lot to the table, something Hayden strives to do not only in his events but also with Maurice the Fish Records. If any of the previous events put on by Hayden are any indication, Evening of Keys will be a night well spent.

EVENING OF KEYS, 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29, Louie G's Pizzeria, 5219 Pacific Hwy. E., Fife, $10, 253.926.9700
