It's not often that reporters get to make dirty jokes (unless you're Jon Stewart), but in this case, the event being covered is one giant innuendo - which perhaps makes this a little more fun for both reader and reporter.

And it should be infinitely more fun for those who actually participate in the 5K event that takes place at the Washington State Fair Events Center in Puyallup July 18.

From the producers of the hit TV show Wipeout, Wipeout Run features 12 obstacles inspired by the show, such as Big Balls (don't forget the show's catchphrase - the bigger the balls, the harder the falls!), Sweeper, Tumble Tubes, Foam of Fury, and of course, the 4-story Happy Endings, where participants cruise down the world's largest inflatable water slide.

"Maybe because it's a giant obstacle course or because TV makes it look so fun, but Wipeout is awesome," said fan Abbie Rose, who plans on tackling the course. "Plus, I think it will get me into the gym with an awesome goal in mind."

Wipeout Run has made its way across America, even stopping in Canada, to allow Wipeout enthusiasts to try their luck on amazing obstacles. While participants must be 18, all skill levels are welcome to join the fun, foam and fury.

Use your agility to dodge Sweeper arms and Wrecking Balls, reach for the stars on the super-sized moon bounce obstacle, Sky's the Limit, and prepare to get nice and wet with the crowd-pleasing Tumble Tubes.

(Pro tip: stretch ahead of time, and bring your Go-Pro or camera.)

But the action isn't just on the course: the whole day will be packed with fun. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase before and after the 3.1-mile course, as will souvenirs and merchandise. Photo opportunities with Wipeout backgrounds will be there as well.

Of course, people watching is half the fun - and many participants will compete in costume. Neon, business suits, tutus and animal costumes seem to be most popular - based on photos on the event's website - and running shoes are definitely encouraged.

The organization's website (www.wipeoutrun.com/seattle) is super-easy to navigate and gives all the details about timing your run with friends (singles or teams), when and where to pick up registration packets (which includes a T-shirt, wristbands, tattoos and more) and an easy registration link.

The day is split into two waves, and in each wave there are separate times to run. If you plan on going with friends, the only way to go together (and wear matching costumes) is to be on the same team. When you register, the site asks if you want to form or join a team, which allows friends to link up.

There is still time for a discounted registration fee of $70, which helps the Challenged Athletes Foundation, an organization that supports people with physical disabilities so they can pursue active lifestyles.

Now grab your best friends, your best tutu and tube socks, and conquer those huge balls!
