Are you ready for some football?!

Super Bowl is Sunday, and the Weekly Volcano has to confess to feeling a tad bipolar about the whole thing: glad to see the 49ers in it again, but also bored to distraction at the thought of subjecting ourselves to a four-hour advertising blitz interrupted by a few minutes of pro football. We could invest loads of man hours baking hot wings, making deviled eggs and concocting some clever pig skin themed cocktail OR we could leave it up to the professionals and ante up to a bar where testosterone swirls in the air, hoots and hollers fill the room and someone else makes the barbecue ribs and cocktails.

Here's a list of some South Sound digs serving up specials Sunday, Feb. 3.

Tacoma

Varsity Grill features 14 big screens televisions for your viewing needs. Specials include $3 shots of Fireball and pints of Bud and Bud Light with a Hawks glass you can take back to the abode. Plus loads of giveaways including a Widmer snowboard.  1114 Broadway

West End Bar and Grill features more than 20 televisions; literally they can be seen from any seat in the house. Chug on the usual Sunday specials such as $3 Bud and Bud Light drafts and $5 bombs in the event you are wallowing in sorrow or celebrating like a champ. The west end also has awesome prices on wing platters and hands down, the best steak you'll find in a pub setting. 3840 Sixth Ave.

Loose Wheel Bar & Grill - Puyallup and Tacoma - will be visited by the Fireball Girls dealing out Fireball swag and offering specials on Fireball cocktails. You can drink on the cheap even if cinnamon whiskey isn't your bag with $2.50 pints, $9 pitchers and $2 Jell-o shots. To keep Sunday funday in full effect we recommend partaking in some bites with the "Big Easy" inspired food specials. All that and a chance to win a seven-night getaway to Hawaii or Mexico. Whoa. Fireball! 715 River Road, Puyallup and 6108 Sixth Ave., Tacoma

Pizza and football go hand and hand so Katie Downs is a natural go to. Remember Janet Jacksons wardrobe malfunction? Yup, we saw it there, though details are a little fuzzy thanks to copious amounts of Coors Light. You can hope to relive a similar moment with this year's special: $20 for a large two-topping pizza and pitcher of Coors Light. 3211 Ruston Way

The Ram, a true sports bar, will have specials on its Imperial pints, Jack Daniels and Bacardi shots, margaritas and its signature drink-as-a-meal Proud Bloody Mary concoction throughout the game. If the game gets boring, order Big Reds Baby Back Ribs, the Amber Ale Chicken Sandwich, Hefeweizen Battered Fish and Chips or the Buttface Ale Cheese Dip appetizer and stare at Commencement Bay. 3001 Ruston Way

The Office Bar & Grill has yet to announce full details, but you can anticipate specials on wings and domestic drafts for sure. Besides, you can tell your spouse you're spending extra hours at the office to impress her with your work ethic and not be a complete liar. 813 Pacific Ave.

With all the new, trendy bars popping up along the way, O’Malley’s Irish Pub is a gem of a dive to drink stiff drinks and rock on wobbly barstools. Expect $3 cheeseburgers, two for $2 tacos and more. 2403 Sixth Ave.

The Harmon Tap Room will have its massive TV screen blasting the game in its "Underground" room. Besides $3 pints, $3 wells, $3 mimosas and $5 Bloody Marys, at the end of each quarter the Tap Room will bust out giveaways such as hoodies, growlers and gift certificates. 204 St. Helens Ave.

Gig Harbor

Tides Tavern is featuring its happy hour all day to fuel your football watching needs. Happy day to you! 2925 Harborview Dr.

The Float Pub and Grill has a whopping 18 screens broadcasting the game. And aside from drink and food specials, it will have loads of giveaways that include - but are not limited to - autographed Seahawks jerseys each quarter. 14511 Sherman Dr. NW

Olympia

Frankie's Sports Bar was brief and to the point when we called for Super Bowl specials. The dude on the other end stated, "We have a party going on and there will be food specials and drink specials." Well, there you have it. Get some and take a gander upstairs. 3663 Pacific Ave. SE

O'Blarney's Irish Pub is starting off big with a Super Buffet offering prime rib, shrimp and more. In the drinks department, expect $2.50 for monster 20-ounce Bud Lights and $5 shots of Bacardi. Giveaways include a Bacardi snowboard and Bud Light mini fridge. 4411 Martin Way E.

University Place

Cheers West is featuring $3 pints of Coors Light and Bud Light and likely to have killer deals on nibbles as well, though that's still a mystery as no menu has been announced. 7102 27th St. W.

We couldn't get a straight answer on the Ale House's Super Bowl offerings, but with 64 beers on tap and a staggering 20-plus televisions to view the big game it doesn't really matter. 2122 Mildred St. W.

Lakewood

There is one location in Lakewood that has stood the test of time and that is The Schooner Pub and Galley. We were assured you could count on food and drink specials while watching the game on any one of its 14 televisions. 5429 100th St. SW\

After making many calls, it seems there's a lot of feet dragging this year. If you have your Super Bowl specials ready, add them in the comments section below.

If that isn't enough to convince you to go out and you're opting to throw a shindig you might consider snagging a growler at The Red Hot, Parkway, Harmon Tap Room, 99 Bottles, Pint Defiance or establishments such as the Rosewood Cafe or The Social Bar and Grill.
