TACOMA FARMERS MARKET

It's here! It's here! Farmers Market season in Tacoma has finally arrived with two outdoor markets kicking off their season this week. Broadway Farmers Market (Ninth and Broadway) launches Thursday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the 6th Ave Farmers Market (Sixth and Pine) begins Tuesday, May 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. Snag fresh produce finds, artisan vendor goods and tasty food truck style fare.

PAESAN KITCHEN AND GEEK

Geek-a-licious fun is sure to go down during May the 4th Be With You festivities at Paesan Kitchen and Bar (1701 Dock St., Tacoma). Star Wars themed food and drink specials, such as a Moon of Endor libation, will run from morning to night. Those who arrive in costume or wear Star Wars fan gear will be entered in a drawing to score a Paesan gift card. To be clear, this happens on May 4th, get it?

CINCO DE MAYO

It's Cinco de Mayo friends and whether you're celebrating the Mexican army's 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla or your freedom to imbibe in gratuitous amounts of tequila, the Matador (721 Pacific Ave., Tacoma) has got you covered. Festivities will be going on all weekend with live entertainment from 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday and a special appearance from Ben Union May 3. This of course means food and drink specials to celebrate accordingly.

PRAY FOR SUN

It's maybe, almost, most definitely spring which means that sometimes there is some sunshine and The Hub (203 Tacoma Ave., Tacoma) is encouraging more with their annual Pray for Sun shindig at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 3. Festivities include an old school bike competition, aerial hoop girl performances and a raffle. Enjoy food and drink specials in the spirit of summer.
