Several weeks ago Weekly Volcano food critic Jackie Fender gushed over Maxwell's Restaurant & Lounge's head chef, Hudson Slater. Deservedly so - the man is on culinary fire.

Today, The Grand Cinema couldn't hold back its love for Slater any longer. The Grand announced it has invited the chef to host a post-film discussion after the 3:10 p.m. screening of Chef, Saturday, May 24. Let's read The Grand's handiwork:

We've been anticipating the release of Director/Writer/Actor Jon Favreau's new film CHEF for months. The film has been receiving rave reviews for its story, humor, and incredible cast (which includes Favreau, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Dustin Hoffman, Sofía Vergara, and John Leguizamo).

Critics and audiences who've seen the film at major festivals all seem to agree that this film (about a chef who quits his job at a fancy restaurant and restarts his career by opening a food truck) will leave you craving a gourmet meal!

That's why we invited Hudson Slater - Maxwell's Executive Chef - to lead a discussion on the film following the 3:10 screening this Saturday (5.24). This won't be an ordinary post-film chat though - all who attend the screening and discussion will receive a free appetizer coupon from Maxwell's!

What's more, that evening Maxwell's will be serving a special Cuban sandwich inspired by the film with smoked pulled pork, grilled ham, cheese, fresh toasted bread, house mustard and Lynnae's Gourmet Pickles! YUM! Sounds like the perfect occasion to take advantage of the "Dinner a Movie" deal we've offered in partnership with Maxwell's for years! (Maxwell's website)
