Olympia is in for a show like no other. A feast for the senses. A treat for the peepers. A show that brings a number of world-class performers to the stage, and yet a show for which you might just want to leave your grandmother at home ... unless, of course, your grandmother is exceedingly cool.

The Atomic Bombshells are coming to Olympia's Capitol Theater.

The Atomic Bombshells are a burlesque troupe that began in New Orleans, training under some of the greatest stars of burlesque's Golden Age, before debuting at The Showbox in Seattle in 2003. Since then, they have made repeat appearances in Seattle to sold-out audiences and toured the U.S. and the world, from Amsterdam to Shanghai. They've garnered accolades from press around the world, from "The New York Yankees of Burlesque" (so-called by KPLU) to "Seattle's most venerable burlesque dancers" (The Stranger).

In short, this is not your average burlesque troupe. This is a show with pizzazz to spare.

"As a troupe, we are known for our over-the-top, high-glamour production value and high camp aesthetic," said bombshell Kitten La Rue. "You can expect incredible dancing, hilarious comedy, eyeball-melting costumes and a smart and sexy blend of classic burlesque, boylesque, drag, dance and comedic theater. We truly offer up something to delight everyone with a pulse."

You'll see not one, but several bombshells, including Ruby Mimosa, Honey D. Luxe, Miss Indigo Blue, Ivy St. Spectre, as well as Kitten La Rue and her partner in stage and in life, drag king Lou Henry Hoover. Kitten N' Lou perform as a duet separately as well, but will join with The Atomic Bombshells for this show.

While you have many choices to get your burlesque kicks in this world, few other shows offer as many superstars on one stage. Within the risqué ranks of the Bombshells are such title holders as "Miss Exotic World, Queen of Burlesque," "Miss Viva Las Vegas," "Queen of the Roses," "Burlesque Hall of Fame's Most Comedic," and Kitten N' Lou, who were just voted the #1 Burlesque Artists in the world by 21st Century Burlesque's Top 50 poll.

"We are so thrilled to be making our Olympia debut!" said La Rue. "As it's our first time in your fair city, we will be bringing a revue of some of our best acts ... a perfect introductory poo-poo platter to get a taste of our ‘gospel of glitter.'  Kitten N' Lou spend much of their time either in NYC or on tour internationally now, so it's a special treat to return to the PNW for this show! You also won't want to miss our hilarious new hostess with the mostest, Dusty Knockers!"

The Atomic Bombshells go on stage at the Capitol Theater, located at 206 5th Ave. SE, in downtown Olympia April 2. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 for general admission and $20 for OFS members. This show is for ages 18+ only. Tickets are available online (http://olympiafilmsociety.org/the-atomic-bombshells-burlesque/) or at the door.
