This Veterans Day weekend there are many events throughout the South Sound honoring veterans. The following is a list of some of the events you can attend.

FRIDAY, NOV. 8

Veterans Day Social & Happy Hour

Meet student veteran leadership and University of Washington student veterans to celebrate in advance of Veterans Day.An American Tavern, 5 p.m.,744 Market St. 102B, Tacoma

Veterans Day Assembly, St. Patrick Catholic School

54th Annual Auburn Veterans Day Parade and Observance

The parade will showcase over 200 units and almost 6,000 parade participants, to include high school marching bands, military vehicles, veterans' units and honor guards. 11 a.m., East Main St., Auburn

Film Screening of Apache Blues: Welcome Home

Filmmakers Dave Merlino and Dustin Sweet screen their documentary on the first air assault unit in history, the 1st Squadron of the 9th Cavalry Regiment.The Museum of Flight, 1 p.m., 9404 East Marginal Way S, Tukwila, Free with Museum admission  

Veterans Appreciation Days -- Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium

Veterans Day: Women's Roles in the Military

A Patriotic Nov. 11 Day at The Museum of Flight
