Wear Warhol

Since you spent all your money on this doesn't mean your budget won't accommodate an original Warhol. Skipthe nude Britney Spears giving birth and opt instead for something stylish from the new Warhol Factory X Levis' line. The collection, inspired by the artist's work and his fascination with the color silver, includes limited-edition numbered jeans and denim skirts, plus T's, vests, and jackets. The best part? You can buy these pieces for as little as $70. Try offering the Tacoma Art Museum a similar amount for anything Warhol related and see how fast you get chased out the door. - Suzy Stump

Viva DuPont

After 18-months of guys running around in toolbelts, DuPont's Viva Mexico FINALLY opens (if all goes well) Tuesday.  The slowest construction project ever looks excellent through the windows.  We're stoked.  You can't miss the building on Wilmington. It's the only casa. - Jason de Paul.

Home Improvement

The Ram Brewery in Lakewood shuts down in mid-May for a major remodel.  The plans call for designing this Ram to resemble the new Hawks Prairie Ram by September.  I love the Ram's almond chicken salad (just thought you should know). - Jason de Paul

Bump up that ginger ale

Bubble Room's Ginger Ale-plus
I broke down. I couldn't bring myself to ask for the bartender's special - the inevitable, fruity tropical multi-booze laden drink decorated with a spear of day old fruit. I went with a new standard of whiskey and ginger ale. Most bars don't have ginger ale on the gun, and that's fine with me. I enjoy ginger ale by itself, and I really love some whiskey. A handmade ginger ale consists of coke, sprite and a splash of bitters. Sometimes bartenders get carried away and add a squeeze of lemon, which is OK, but unnecessary. Served in a normal short tumbler, Alfred's version was tasty and took the edge off - exactly what I want in a cocktail after a ridiculous day of pushing papers, sending and receiving faxes and talking to people on the phone about matters I couldn't care about. The Bubble Room is a multifaceted establishment: restaurant, '50s style diner and swank lounge area all rolled into one. It's a good place to take a date or possibly (hopefully for me) meet one over cocktails and jazz on the weekends. I'm told the jazz music of the Mike Nelson Trio brings in some classy dames, but I intend to see for myself. Alfred's Cafe and Bubble Room, 402 Puyallup Ave., Tacoma (253) 627-5491.

Trans Union/SOTA show canceled

The March 31 show at Club SOTA featuring post-punk band Trans Union has been canceled due to a lack of chaperones.  Please ignore the lovely SOTA show preview Mike Stasiak wrote in this week's Weekly Volcano.  Bobble Tiki believes most parents are too addicted to "Deal or No Deal" - like chocolate-flavored crack sprinkled over vanilla soft serve - to help their children.  Which is, well, simply staggering. Mind-blowing. Odd. Gut-wrenching.  Colon-knotting. Eyeball-gouging. And so on. - Bobble Tiki

Make tracks

Downtown Puyallup, if you haven't noticed, is hell bent on becoming another great food and fun district in the South Sound.  Located a couple blocks west of the Puyallup fairgrounds, the energy sprouted with a robust farmers' market.  Trackside Pizza opened three weeks ago to be part of this growing trend. Offering both classic and foo-foo toppings, we'd recommend the Chihuahua al Pacifico: Italian sausage, pepperoni, jalapeno and loads of garlic.  it's open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.  201 N. Meridian St., Puyallup, (253) 845-7437.

The Warped Tour

AmberpacificThe Warped Tour is like the hyperactive little brother of Lollapalooza. The bands are louder, there are more of them, and the whole event is constructed around skateboard culture.  Today, the Warped Tour announced it will be stopping by the Gorge Amphitheatre July 15 to rock your face off.
There's always a bumper crop of up-and-comers in the ranks, and this year is no exception: 18 Visions, AFI, Aiden, The Academy Is, Against Me!, Alexisonfire, Amber Pacific, Anti Flag, Armor For Sleep, ASG, Billy Talent, The Bled, Bouncing Souls, Bullet For My Valentine, Buzzcocks, Cartel, The Casualties, Die Hunns, Dork, Down To Earth Approach, Dropping Daylight, The Early November, Eight Fingers Down (Bbq Band), Emanuel, Emery, Every Time I Die, The Fall Of Troy, Flashlight Brown  ... crap, too tired to continue this.  Check out The Warped Tour Web site for a complete list of bands.
Tickets are $31.80 and will go on sale April 7, 4 p.m., at Ticketmaster outlets. - Brad Allen
