The Smithereens at Jazzbones tonight

By weeklyvolcano on June 4, 2006

Patdinizio Pat DiNizio has been around. Once front man for the murky brit-pop influenced rock band The Smithereens, he has done everything from rock alongside the Ramones to run for Senate. No, really. He ran for Senate.
Lately, DiNizio has decided it would be romantic to play at people’s houses and has spent a great deal of time jamming for hours in people’s living rooms. He claims on his Web site that the intimacy of playing to a small audience is unlike any other performance experience, and it has encouraged him to continue playing tidy little clubs and in relatively small towns. This is a one-time chance to see an underground legend in all his glory. Don’t miss it. Tonight, 8 p.m., all ages until 11 p.m., $15, Jazzbones. â€" Paul Scrag
