Bright Eyes plays Olympia Sept. 16

Brighteyes_2007 Omaha-based singer/songwriter Conor Oberst can be summed up in one hyphen: conflict-ridden. For some, he is and will no doubt remain untouchable â€" a lyrical genius a la Dylan. For others, Oberst’s work as Bright Eyes is nothing more than a companion piece to Chris Carrabba’s strained musings. Still others don’t understand why this indie rocker, who’s now known throughout the world, still hangs on to his hometown label turning up his nose to major labels’ promises.

I don’t know.  Don’t really care either.  I just want to soak it all in Sept. 16 when Bright Eyes plays the Capitol Theater in Olympia.

Tickets are $25 at TicketsWest. â€" Brad Allen
