Cans From Around the World

Good beer is as welcome at a wedding as it is at a barn dance, elegant as a tuxedo, and familiar as faded overalls.

There’s only one minor problem with good beer. Good beer is hard to find in a can.

Let's face it, Tacoma is one place where beer in a can makes sense. The average long-neck bottle, no matter how well engineered, will tip over as you speed away from the Ruston Police. Ever used a bottle opener after running away from characters at Ninth and Commerce? Of course not.

Tacoma Beer Society attempts to solve this problem by hosting Cans From Around The World Wednesday, Aug. 22 at Cans in downtown Tacoma.  For $10, you can sample eight cans of beer in 4-ounce increments.  The cans pop open at 6:30 p.m. â€" Brad Allen
