Dining on fig pizza Friday night at Primo Grill I overheard owner/chef Charlie McManus tell a table that his new Crown Bar on Sixth Avenue would soft open this Wednesday.

A press release from Clover Park Technical College confirms the soft opening, which is actually three invitation only evening fund raisers, Wednesday, Sept. 26 through Friday, Sept. 28, benefiting CPTC’s Culinary Arts program.

In the statement CPTC president John Walstrum states, "The generosity of Charlie McManus, Jacqueline Plattner (Primo Grill, Crown Bar owners) and Phyllis McGavick Broich (McGavick Wines) is just phenomenal.  Our culinary students are very fortunate to have such incredible benefactors creating opportunities for our students to be successful."

The Crown Bar will officially open Saturday, Sept. 29.
