SUZY STUMP: FIND THE MURRAY MORGAN TONIGHT >>>

Murraymorganclaudiariede For most people, laundry is a tedious, time-sucking chore. But for me, it’s a way to evoke the muse. While unloading the dryer one day, I noticed that the lint trap held a rainbow of wonderful colors and textures. My creative spin cycle kicked in and I immediately began to transform the fluff into the Murray Morgan Bridge.

Tonight, The Art Stop/LeRoy Jewelers joins BKB & Company for a juried show of art and contemporary craft celebrating the Murray Morgan Bridge.

Participating artist Claudia Riedener (that’s her bridge above) states in a press release: “Photos and other media depicting the now-closed-to-vehicular-traffic bridge are for sale with a portion of the proceeds donated to Save Our Bridge, a non-profit organization dedicated to preservation of the Tacoma icon.”

Check out animated, sculpted, 3D pictured and photographed views of the bridge by John Carlton, Dean Walsh, Lynn Di Nino, Chip Van Gilder and Riedener.

Who knows, maybe one of them ditched the dry-clean only-threads and created a Maytag Murray Morgan masterpiece, too.
