While the Weekly Volcano World Headquarters is currently under siege by pirates, The New Takhoman reports via e-mail:

The Tacoma City Council voted tonight to give the voters of the City of Tacoma the go ahead to vote in the November 2008 election to modify the Tacoma City Charter to abolish the ten year mayoral and city council term limits.

After limited citizen and unlimited council input the council voted 5 to 4 to put the issue on the November ballot.

Shiver me timbers!
