SUZY STUMP: JURIED SHOW OF RECYCLED STUFF >>>

Re-art re-Art is a bit of an exhibitionist.  re-Art likes to be judged.  re-Art is sick ‘n’ tired of being confined to damn paintings.  re-Art is craft-y â€" incorporating recycled and reclaimed materials.  re-Art doesn’t want to be talked about like this any more.

Hey! Check out the re-Art ’08 juried art show Saturday, Oct. 18 at Gallery Madera. Twenty-two Northwest artists found creative ways to re-use items headed for landfills.

Gallery Madera press release: Submissions were juried by three Tacomans well immersed in the energies of the local art community:  Julie Bennett, owner of Tacoma's urbanXchange â€" an urban oasis of new and recycled clothing, Paula Tutmarc-Johnson, owner of Two Vaults Gallery â€" an eclectically appointed fine art gallery gracing the slopes of downtown Tacoma; and Rick Semple â€" artist and notorious Goodwill and Re-Store frequenter.

Hey! Thirty percent of all sales will benefit the Tacoma Food Co-op and the Sierra Club Zero Waste Committee.

re-Art says going to the mall to look at stuff and not buy is crazy.
