ANGELA JOSSY: DIA DE LOS MUERTOS >>>

Death is as mysterious as it is inevitable, but it’s also a part of life. This is the essence of the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration â€" to honor and celebrate the lives of people who have passed on before us.

There are four Dia de los Muertos celebrations I know of happening in Tacoma, and they won’t be anywhere near as morbid as I imagined. Two Vaults Gallery and Mad Hat Tea Company have Day of the Dead art shows hanging in their cribs. Tacoma Art Museum's big Dia de los Muertos party begins tomorrow at noon. The Sixth Avenue Procession kicks off tomorrow at 6 p.m. from Masa restaurant on Sixth Avenue.
