Weekly Volcano film critic Christopher Wood captured the Tacoma Community March to the city’s 21st annual Martin Luther King Jr. birthday celebration inside the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall yesterday. Bates Technical College students, staff and families, as well as the Tacoma community, began the march at Bates at 1101 S. Yakima Ave. around 9:30 a.m.

Inside the Exhibition Hall, president-elect Barack Obama received as much fanfare as King as the celebration fell on the day before the historic inauguration of the country’s first black president.
