STEPH DEROSA: WINO WEDNESDAY >>>

Wino-Wed-1-24 “It’s like a sandwich in a glass,” is what The KAke always tells me when I down my typical favorite IPA.  It’s hoppy, robust, and extremely filling â€" just like a gluttonous Velveeta and bologna sandwich on white sliced Wonder Bread.  Right?  Right.

Which is why a wine alternative is always dandy.

Last night Mr. DeRosa joined me along with Bandito Betty and her man at The Red Hot to celebrate all things “out of place.”  If TRH is a beer and hot doggery, then why are they serving wine?

For people like me, that’s why.

And at three measly bucks a glass, who the hell wouldn’t want to drink that shit up?

Leave it to Bandito and me (sadly missing The KAke) to down a few glasses of Montpellier Vineyards’ Viognier and Pinot Noir during TRH’s Volcano sponsored Wino Wednesday last night. Wino Wednesday â€" $3 pours from a featured vintner â€" happens the first Wednesday of every month at The Red Hot on Sixth Avenue.

Oh, and we ran into Joe Izenman.  Always a pleasure.

‘Twas a fun night.
