Back in January Volcano scribe Steph DeRosa announced that Sparks Firehouse Deli would open in May across from Sparks Stadium in Puyallup. She explained the New York style deli would carry a firehouse theme. 

May came and went without an opening. So did August, which was the month Sparks Firehouse Deli claimed it would open on its Facebook page. Apparently construction issues were the cause of the delay.

The new opening date is Thursday, Sept. 3, according to its Facebook page. The deli, which sits at 621 5th St. S.W., will be open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
