Be on the lookout for "Quiet Shoes"

AWESOME ADVENTURES IN FILM >>>

A few weeks ago a package arrived for me here at Weekly Volcano World Headquarters. Not just the usual hate mail or mail-order Viagra, the manila enveloped contained a piece of Tacoma that's well worth your attention: Schnelluloid Adventures in Film Volume One.

Shipped to me, appropriately, by the Schnelluloid Film Manufacturing Plant - the shiny DVD contains all sorts of goodness, including three previous entries in The Grand Cinema's 72 Hour Film Festival: 2006's Teenagers - which won the "Audience Favorite" award, 2007's Letchworth Road, the "Best Short" of that year, and 2008's Foolish Games, which again carried home the "Audience Favorite" award.

While that's certainly a start - and a good one - the Schnelluloid Adventures in Film doesn't stop there. Also included are two musical "shorts" from Guns N Rossetti, several other "experiments" and Bill Henderson's Excruciating Eyeball.

It's total awesomeness.

So, why did I receive such an intriguing package?

Well, part of it comes with my kick-ass job (this is sooo much better than driving a forklift!), but a lot of it stems from the ever-present hype machine. You see, Schnelluloid is preparing for the release and public showing of the full-length feature film Quiet Shoes - a "classic noir" starring Girl Trouble's Dale Phillips as Private Investigator Rick Savage, a bunch of other T-Town cameos - and some jr. high humor.

More info on Quiet Shoes can be found here.

Expect to hear more about Quiet Shoes, and Schnelluloid, in the coming months.
