Art is in the eye of the bus rider

THE ART BUS IS BACK >>>

Third Thursday ArtWalk is on the move again, or at least its artsy people are. Last month, fourteen people and I enjoyed touring Tacoma's Third Thursday ArtWalk on a bus. We laughed, we cried, and we discussed art while navigating the streets of downtown Tacoma on a large school bus.

Riding the wave of positive vibes the ART BUS is back this month with more art venue stops, professionally designed promotional materials, and a sponsor - the Weekly Volcano.

Angela Jossy of the Speakeasy Arts Cooperative runs this traveling spectacle. Here's the press release she just sent out:

ART BUS is a bus tour of several local art galleries downtown Tacoma during the Third Thursday Artwalk. There will be free snacks and wine along the way. It starts at Speakeasy Arts Cooperative at 5 pm but you can jump on anywhere along the route.

You can buy your rider button next week at any participating gallery listed above. Rider buttons are in limited supply (only 42) and they will be collectors' items. The April ART BUS rider button reflects the work of Art Chantry and Lance Kagey in our poster. Next month it will be a different artist. You might want to call one of the above galleries and reserve your rider button now.
