1. What's almost as good as shredding some wicked powder, bro? No, not slowly depleting your trust fund on weed and North Face gear - watching others shred some wicked powder on the big screen. Luckily, beginning at 7 p.m. inside the the Blue Mouse Theatre in Tacoma, Northwest Snowboards presents two new snowboarding flicks, Respect Your Elders and Nowhere. Both films promise to be gnarly.

2. The Outfit Theatre Project presents another episode of their Joe's Diner, adding performers Matt Vancil, director of cult hit films The Gamers and the currently-airing web mini-series Journey Quest, and Tacoma's Stephanie Johnson as a musical guest. The latest update of the show promises nine different improv "games," using input from the audience, while building on character development and background storylines from the first episode. The show opens at 8 p.m. inside Tacoma Little Theatre. Read Joe Izenman's full preview here.

3. Jazzbones plays host at 8 p.m. to a giant birthday party for local rock queen Voxxy featuring her band Voxxy Vallejo with Doug Mackey on drums and Don "Big-D" Swensen on bass, along with the havy rockin' The Big Wheel Stunt Show, local comedian Toby Roberts and art by local artist Gregory Fricker.

4. The New Frontier Lounge hosts a garage/psychedelic dance party featuring DJs Chelsea Fantasia, Tarek Wegner (Night Beats) and Spencer Kelly (Basemint) beginning at 9 p.m.

5. Third Friday of the month means it's Beat Boxxx night featuring the best '80s New Wave, funk, hip-hop, freestyle and early house tunes - and righteous videos, too. At 9:30 p.m. inside the Tempest Lounge, DJs Chris Savenetti and dAb will man the decks.
