Calling all Guilty Ones!

WAKE UP! >>>

The Pantages Theater will be converted into a 19th-century German reform school Saturday, Jan. 22 when the Broadway musical Spring Awakening arrives for two shows. The Tony Award-winning production follows the story of Wendla and Melchior, two star-crossed teens who seem to encounter every possible teenager obstacle in their relationship: Their parents don't understand them, their friends are abused and suicidal, and they just want to love each other.

It's a show laced with profanity and anthems of angst and sexual rebellion.

Variety described the production as "the most startling and exciting rock tuner to hit the boards since Rent." The New York Times called it a "deft blend of straight-up rock, folk, and melodic pop."

The Weekly Volcano said, "It's right up our alley!" Yup, we're sponsoring the Tacoma staging (natch!).

The Broadway Center Marketing Director Lacey Leffler sent notice that she and her Broadway Center peeps will host a Guilty Ones party for 10 rabid fans of Spring Awakening. If you're such a fan, email Jared Wigert at jwigert@broadwaycenter.org and explain why you'd be worthy. But hurry, only the first 10 are in. The party will include free admission to the show.
