Babblin' Babs Bistro has done it again. The tiny gourmet spot in Tacoma's Proctor District introduced another round of breakfast dishes no one in the South Sound comes close to matching. Chef William and his better half, Shannon, emerged from their laboratory with six new dishes without a pigs 'n' a blanket in sight.

After the jump are Babblin' Babs Bistro's new breakfast dishes taken directly from the menu so you may receive a taste the sense of their humor.

Crazy 1949 Vegetable Get-Away

A big twist on the Islands favorite dish. A mound of brown rice with water chestnuts, green onions, and wakame seaweed then a veggie pattie of white beans, lentils, celery, and macadamia nut oil. Blanketed under a Portobello mushroom and sweet onion style gravy and a custard egg crown. Garnished with fresh seasonal fruit. $14.95

Happy Cod & Waffle

Fresh caught in the Bering Sea and brought to us by Capt. Charlie each loin gently dusted with New Orleans spices; then oven roasted. Our famous Riesling waffle dolloped with cream of leeks, bacon, and Bourbon (I see you smiling and now you know why the cod is happy!!). Garnished with sweet potato hash and fresh seasonal fruit. $16.95

Naan a Zulu

Fresh baked naan with thin slices of grilled eggplant topped with an African style tomato with cumin, persevered lemon, and Kalamata olives. Finished with crumble of fresh feta cheese and lemon rice wrapped in grape leaves. $12.95

True Grits with Shrimp

You just might see us at the Oscar's with this performance! Hominy style grits cooked up rich, buttery, and thick (not to thick). Then shrimp marinated in olive oil and Savannah's Chill ‘n' lime seasoning and oven roasted with maple bacon. Garnished with candied shallot and fresh fruit. $16.95

Passionally Your's Forever

Who say's you can't have your cake and eat it too? Fresh whipped ricotta cheese with pulp of the passion fruit spun in the mix; then stuffed in our fresh baked bread. Lightly dipped in a vanilla custard and brilliantly grilled to perfection!! Napped with agave lychee nut syrup and finished with coconut cinnamon chantele cream and toasted shreds of coconut. $12.95

Tropical Thai Phoon Torta

Fresh hand-made white corn tortillas inner laid with thick slices of Jambon ham glazed with pineapple rum marmalade. Topped with a custard coconut baked tortilla and placed on a pool of coconut red curry sauce, sweet potato hash, and fresh fruit garnish. $14.95
