STAY ABREAST OF THE EARTHQUAKE SITUATION IN JAPAN >>>

An 8.9 earthquake triggered a huge tsunami with waves up to 30 feet high that hit the coast of Japan, with more than 400 deaths reported so far. Japan ordered a 1.6-mile evacuation around a nuclear power plant, but a massive fire was set off at an oil-refinery north of Tokyo. More than 30 aftershocks were reported, and additional tsunamis are expected throughout the Pacific Rim.

Locally, Click! Cable TV has issued a statement stating it will yank TV Japan ch. 393 off its premium service, making it available to all its subscribers. View Click!'s press release after the jump.

Due to the earthquake/ tsunami  in Japan, Click! Cable TV has received permission from TV Japan, ch. 393, to make the channel available to all Click! Cable customers, regardless of their level of service.  This channel is normally a premium service.

The channel is available to Click! Cable TV customers with a cable receiver on channel 393.  For those Click! customers with a digital TV, and without a cable receiver connected to it, a rescan of their TV channels will make it available on 106-393.

We anticipate it will be available for approximately one week.  The channel is featuring ongoing live coverage from Japan.
