GOODNESS IN STORE IN PRINT & ONLINE >>>

Is it just me, or are weeks going by faster than ever? It's hard to believe it's already Thursday ... already time for a brand-spankin' new Weekly Volcano music section.

But it's true. I wouldn't lie about what day of the week it is. That'd be dumb.

What isn't dumb is the Volcano's music section this week, packed with musical goodness for you in print and online.

Here's a peak at what you'll find ...

SEAPONY

The cover photo of Seapony's Dreaming single depicts sunshine pouring through a line of evergreen trees - rays of sun so intensely radiant the picture is overtaken by lens flares. It's a potent distillation of the Seapony ethos, and the ethos of bands like them, this idea of a never-ending summer, so light and ebullient that it can almost become overwhelming. - Rev Adam McKinney

HAVI BLAZE

We've already had a bunch of high-profile mixtapes and/or albums drop this year from some of the top Tacoma MC's. One in particular is getting mad spins, critical acclaim and props from heads all over Sea-Tac. I speak of Havi Blaze's solo mixtape, Purple and Gold the Balance. - Josh Rizeberg

YELLINGHAM

In the Spring of last year, a group of Bellingham youth hatched a plan to convert their homes into concert spaces for a gutsy, weekend-long endeavor: the area's first-ever youth-led underground music festival, catering to the community's bevy of hip Western Washington University undergrads and any out-of-towners willing to drive up to Whatcom County to scope it out. - Jason Baxter

ROCKWELL POWERS

Haters will be disappointed to hear that KITBII is another slick, solid outing from Rockwell (real name Zach) who - full disclosure - is a regular Volcano contributor, these days focusing mainly on Tacoma City Council action and local political dealings. - JB
