Petey's Pub opens on Sixth Avenue

DOG. DOG. DOG. >>>

Recently, I infiltrated Dog World.  It was quite simple. I got a dog. Well, I didn't actually get a dog.  My friend asked if I'd house-sit her dog, Mr. Finklepuss, while she went to Mexico.  I said, "si."  She said, "audios." Mr. Finklepuss said, "If you're the guy feeding me, I like you."

And just like that, my life went to the dogs. The book I'm reading is dog-eared to page 89. I now say, "Let sleeping dogs lie."  If this dog-eat-dog world ain't doggone crazy, then it's a bitch.  Last night, I was as sick as a dog after imbibing excessively on hair of the dog. But this morning, I pulled myself up by the bootstraps and said, "Get along little doggie."

And like a Tarantino flick, my dog world has now come full circle (or something). Walking Mr. Finklepuss down Sixth Avenue today, I stumbled upon Petey's Pub, which opened this week. Hot dog! Petey's owner is some guy named Guy, who owns the Garlic Jim's Pizza next door. Basically, Petey's Pub is Garlic Jim's with beer and wine - the food is very similar, if not exact: pizza, wings, sandwiches and salads. There's even a window cutout between the two joints for easy serving.

Oh, yeah. The dog part. Petey's Pub is named after Guy's dog, Petey. There's even painted paws on the ceiling and floor in Petey's honor.

I didn't have time to dig in because Mr. Finklepuss was barking up a storm outside the joint. I'll be back, but not until I leave Dog World.
