As promised, Tacoma artist Tacoman Galen McCarty Turner jumped his bicycle through glowing neon tubing last night in a dark alley at Sixth and I Street. And like last year, the alley was packed in an atmosphere that felt like a high school kegger. During pre-jump theatrics, Turner transformed into "Gaytron the Imploder" - complete with costume. Then to the roar of the crowd, he pedaled hard through a 90,000-volt wall of rare stimulated gases.

It was spectacular.
