Outdoor Cinema series for Lacey

By Nikki Talotta on July 11, 2012

It's time again to pull out the blankets, grab some friends, and head down to Lacey's Parks and Recreation outdoor cinema series. Huntamer Park in Lacey's Woodland Square will open up the lawn for five evenings of free entertainment. The movies start at dusk every Saturday through August 11.

Besides a comfortable environment and cute selection of movies, Huntamer Park also offers live music before the movies beginning at 7 p.m. So come early for good seats and even more free entertainment. A concession stand is available for snacks and refreshments.

This Saturday begins with music from British Export, a Beatles tribute band. The movie is "That Thing You Do," a 1996 comedy, drama-musical film written and directed by Tom Hanks. The story is set in the summer of 1964 and follows the rise and fall of a one-hit wonder rock band.

Thanks City of Lacey for being awesome! Here's the line-up:

July 21 - Music: Gothard Sisters, Celtic music and dance. Movie: Disney's Tangled

July 28 - Music: David Correa & Cascada, Latin guitar and world music. Movie: Rio

August 4 - Music: Freckles Brown Band, classic county and original rock. Movie: Soul Surfer
