By Nikki Talotta on August 28, 2012

1. Join a Vegan Book Club, coordinated by The South Sound Vegan Meetup Group! The book club is open to anyone interested in a vegan diet, vegans and vegan-curious alike. Books available at King's Books. The group meets the fourth Tuesday of every other month at King's Books.7 p.m. 218 St. Helens Ave., Tacoma, 253.272.8801.

2. A group of positive thinkers who encourage one another to go out into the world and share some great vibes. The idea is to train ourselves to stay in the positive because we believe that the more we can stay focused on things of quality, the things that are not so valuable to us will fall away and no longer present themselves in our reality. This is an interesting group for those who are new to practicing positive thought and incredible for those who have been practicing for a long while. 6 - 9 p.m., $10 donation, 6108 Mt. Tacoma Drive S.W. Lakewood.

3. Beer Pong Tourney tonight! Show off your hand-eye coordination by plopping that little white ball into keg cups. Cash prize for the winner. 9 p.m. $5 entry fee. Longhorn Saloon, 10011 Bridgeport Way SW, Lakewood, 253.581.2580.

4. Fusion band, Perry Acker, who have played with Vicci Martinez, and Paul Rodgers (Bad Company, Free) grooves a free all ages concert tonight in Gig Harbor. On the marina, remember a blanket or chair to enjoy the beautiful view and lively music. 6:30 p.m., Skansie Brothers Park, 3211 Harborview Dr W.

5. Calling all Mamas and Ladies 25 years and older. Come join in this dance aerobics class. More fun than the stair steppers and treadmills. 6 p.m., $8, D.A.S.H. Center for the Arts, 1504 Martin Luther King Jr Way, Tacoma, 253.507.9466.
