Grand Oly Opry 2012

By Nikki Talotta on August 24, 2012

Grand Oly Opry 2012 goes down tomorrow at the Eagle’s Social Club in Oly.

Hosted by the Olympia Ladies Drinking Club, the event is a benefit for GRuB, a non-profit organization that works helps low-income families and at-risk youth learn about gardening and farming. GRuB recently experienced deep cuts to their funding and all money earned will directly benefit the organization.

Grand Oly Opry highlights include live music by the Oly Mountain Boys, who play incredible bluegrass, Barleywine Review (from Tacoma,) The Scuff and Al Show, Cottonwood Cutups and more.

EZ Foods Olympia will be serving slow smoked pulled pork and jerk sandwiches for $6. Drinks will be available at the bar.

The event encourages fancy attire and will have other features such as raffle prizes, free cupcakes (vegan ones, too) and even the rumor of special guest performances by local talented ladies of burlesque.

Hype on the event’s facebook page reads, “You alls best better get yer finest boots out & dust your hats off because Olympia's premiere summer hoedown is coming on up!”

$5 suggested donation. 7 p.m. – 2 a.m. 805 4th Ave., Olympia https://www.facebook.com/events/257925810967018/
