Sharmagne Leland-St. John at King’s Books

By Kristin Kendle on September 11, 2012

On the second Friday of each month, King’s Books hosts a Distinguished Writer Series. This month’s featured writer is Sharmagne Leland-St. John—a Native American poet, performer, artist, and filmmaker best known for her poem “I Said Coffee.” She is also a Pushcart Prize nominee and editor-in-chief of poetry ezine “Quill and Parchment.” On September 14 at 7 p.m., she will perform a reading.

After the reading, there will be an Open Mic for local, courageous poets. Sign up is at 6:45 p.m. and all are welcome, if you feel you’ve got the poetry chops.

The event is free! King’s Books is located at 218 St. Helens Avenue.
