1. God Loves Uganda is an advocacy doc through and through; unlike so many films that try to disguise their bias, this one has the grace and courtesy to announce it from the get-go. It's a powerful exploration of the evangelical campaign to change African culture with values imported from America's Christian Right. The film follows American and Ugandan religious leaders fighting "sexual immorality" and missionaries trying to convince Ugandans to follow Biblical law. Catch it at 2 and 6:45 p.m. at The Grand Cinema.

2. The best bars are named after ex-wives. Or defunct rock bands. Or candy. Yep, candy. That's why we knew The Red Hot in Tacoma was destined to be a classic. How could a place known for its beer and hot dog selection not bring the noise? Especially on Tuesday's, when The Red Hot serves $3 pints all damn day. Yes, sir, The Red Hot is up there for sweetest joint in the area. That is until the Skittles moves into town.

3. King's Books' freshly-minted Comics and Pizza Club - a merging of its graphic novels discussion group and its Capes and Cowls Club - meets at 7 p.m. Forget Tuesdays With Morrie. Welcome to Tuesday With Mutants! Make no mistake; this isn't kid stuff despite the "comics" moniker. Nor is it all about heroes in tights. Instead, the club's selections range from the Super to the sublime. This month's pick, Death: The High Cost of Living by Neil Gaiman and Chris Bachalo, falls into the latter category. Copies of the book are available at King's Books (natch).

4. This might be hard to believe, but you can't go see The Beatles live anymore, unless you have some sort of resurrection or time traveling technology. If you do have said technology and are using to see The Beatles, you've got some problems, so let Red Wind Casino help you out. It hosts Beatles tribute band British Export at 8 p.m. Go scream your head off.

5. The 1230 Room probably has you at "$4 lemon drops," but you also may be interested in the downtown Olympia club's Tuesday deep, tech and progressive house night "Deep Tuesdays." It launches at 9 p.m. with drink specials, no cover and resident DJs Alex Bosi and Evan Mould.
