Did you know Wells Fargo donates homes to soldiers with help from the Military Warriors Support Foundation? It's true. In fact, it happened again Monday when former Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldier Spc. Marcos Garcia shoved a key into his new Federal Way home. Garcia, who was severely injured in a mortar attack in April of 2007 while deployed in Iraq and was awarded the Purple Heart, now lives in a mortgage-free home thanks to the two organizations.

That's awesome.

Wells Fargo and the Military Warriors Support Foundation are committed to helping veterans who are wounded while serving their country. Wells Fargo donates homes to MWSF for use in their Homes4WoundedHeroes and Homes4GoldStars programs.

This donation is part of a $30 million commitment in property donations to veterans made by Wells Fargo in 2012 as part of its Military Affairs program, which assists service members, veterans and their familiesby providing sustainable housing, career transition, and customized financial education.   In 2013, Wells Fargo donated 86 properties to veterans worth more than $11 million.

The Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization whose mission is to provide support for our nation's wounded heroes as they transition out of the military and into their new civilian life.  Through their Homes4WoundedHeroes Program, they donate 100% mortgage-free homes to combat wounded heroes, and their families, who were injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition to the home, the families will receive three years of family and financial mentoring.
