Kurt Cobain Day launches Feb. 20 in Aberdeen

"People born specifically on the 20th of February are surmised to be polite, tactful team players who are highly receptive," reads an excerpt from gotohoroscope.com. "The ruling astrological planet for this particular day is the Moon - adding warmth and compassion to your list of attributes. If you have this birthday an adoration of beautiful things and music accompanies your easygoing friendly nature."

Does this sound like Kurt Cobain? Perhaps. Truth is, the talented Pisces touched the world with his music, style and misunderstood nature - he would have been 47.

Aberdeen, the original home of Cobain, has finally collaborated with city members and the local museum to honor the presence of a man and a band that rocked the globe. While the Aberdeen Museum of History opened a Nirvana and Melvin's exhibit in November ('bout time), the mayor of Aberdeen, Bill Simpson, has taken it one step further and announced Feb 20, Cobain's birthday, will be officially "Kurt Cobain Day."

"She eyes me like a Pisces when I am weak I've been locked inside your Heart-Shaped box for weeks ..."

There will be an event to honor the occasion, with the museum exhibit open and a statue of Cobain on hand for the day. Nirvana fans Gebular will rock the joint - '90s alt-rock style. The band has a special song in honor of Cobain, "27." Aaron Burkhart, original Nirvana drummer and member of Under Sin, will be there, too. A Les Paul Guitar, signed by Gebular and Burkhart, will be given away to one lucky fan.
