THURSDAY, MARCH 6 2014 >>>

1. Give Harlequin Productions an A for ambition in tackling Tennessee Williams' masterful Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The 1955 Pulitzer Prize-winner is still a sizzler, with words one does not use in polite company even after decades of Williams' tweaks and revisions. This romp through the Seven Deadly Sins (avarice, lust, envy, greed, pride, sloth and gluttony, for those keeping score) hits the stage at 8 p.m.

2. Treos in Old Town Tacoma will host a wine and chocolate pairing featuring delectable artisan bon bons handcrafted by two sisters of Wow Chocolates at 6 p.m. For those who wish to forgo the vino, the roasted bean also pairs well with bon bons.

3. Lakewood author Brett Lawrence will discuss and sign his new sci-fi book, Shadow Guardians, at 7 p.m. in the University Place Pierce County Library.

4. Olympia singer-songwriter Elizabeth le Fey - she of punk band Meowtain and Foxygen - is now playing dreamy lo-fi tunes in Globelamp, a band that will join Brian Smith at 8 p.m. in Metronome Coffee.

5. Folk-rock revivalists Joshua Powell and the Great Train Robbery continues their tour of the South Sound with an 8 p.m. show at The Swiss.
