The dialogue is sometimes so sharp we wince, and the acting by an ensemble of world-class actors led by Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor and Chris Cooper is for the most part superb. But this adaptation of Tracy Letts' play ultimately is sour, loud and draining. Nearly everyone in this story would be the most horrific person at your average dinner party. - Two stars
