It's Pride Week, Tacoma! And it's high-time to not only celebrate, but honor the Lesbian, Gay, Transgendered, and Queer or Questioning (LGBTQ) community in our gritty little city. To make that as easy (and fun) as possible, we've compiled a shortlist of Pride events -- all of which aim to cultivate LGBTQ pride and foster inclusivity in our community -- to kick-off the festivities:

Tacoma Pride Festival
Start Pride strong by attending the official Tacoma Pride Festival Saturday, July 14. Festivalgoers will be graced with live entertainment on two stages, featuring Glitterati, ISCOT, Jay 5, Little Donuts, Mirrorgloss and SISTERS. For those who can't wait to shake their "groove thang," DJ Lady V will offer dance opportunities throughout the day. The event is family-friendly and includes a kid's zone, food trucks, vendor booths, and a 21+ beer garden. Destiny City Comics' Queer-Fem Con!
Four years in the running, Destiny City Comics' Queer-Fem Con! has become a low-key staple of Tacoma Pride festivities. The Queer-Fem Con will span two days, Saturday and Sunday, July 14-15, and will include special displays of comics written and illustrated by LGBTQ creators, as well as comics featuring LGBTQ content. Among them are America (featuring a Queer and Latina superhero), Jem and the Holograms (an LGBTQ-friendly comic illustrated by trans artist Sophie Campbell), and Deadpool (featuring an ever-popular, bi-sexual superhero). Signed copies of Mama Titz Saves the World, created by Seattle drag-queen and Prism Comics founder Charles "Zan" Christensen, will also be available at the event.

"This event is for everyone. We have to show we're welcoming to everyone, that we're a community together," said Michael Fitzgerald, Destiny City Comics owner and proud proponent of LGBTQ inclusion in Tacoma. "I never went to Pride before I moved to Tacoma ... so it's cool to be a part of the festivities now." 2018 Tacoma Pride Block Party
If you're still on your feet after a full afternoon of Pride activities, head to The Mix for some epic fun at the 2018 Tacoma Pride Block Party. We're talking three outdoor bars (yes, three), food trucks, a DJ dance party, go-go dancers, and live performances by special guests Queens with Cox RuPaul drag queens. Varied performers will take to the stage at 5 p.m. and will entertain the masses until 2 a.m., including: DJ Essbee, DJ Toya B, Ruth Soto, Glitterati Inc, DJ Joy, Sylvia O Stayformore, DJ LA Kendall, and Queens with Cox. The Tacoma Pride After Party!
If one dance party isn't enough for you, head to the Tacoma Pride After Party at Alma Mater Tacoma Saturday, for another. The musical lineup at the after party is stacked with performances by Celina Graves, Eazy-EQ and Nena KapOne, as well as DJ sets by LadyVthebarber and Yaddy Ye. Kiki Jean Williams, running back for the Seattle Majestics Women's tackle football team, and San-Diego hip-hop artist Celina Graves will host the event. Bonus: those who spring for a VIP ticket will have the opportunity to meet-and-greet with Graves. 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday, July 14, Alma Matter Tacoma, 1322 S.
