Forget your birthday, St. Patrick's Day, or Super Bowl Sunday - New Year's Eve is the social event of the year. You've been shopping for new duds all month, and you've finally found the perfect outfit. You're hopeful that when the clock strikes 12, you'll be lip-locked with someone hot. You've consulted 20 of your closest friends to find out what "everyone" is doing. You're determined that this year will be different - it won't be a letdown, and you won't be standing knee-deep in keg beer in a basement, or sitting alone on your couch, stroking your stuffed bear and watching the ball drop. And finally, you absolutely will not be running around at the last minute trying to find a place that isn't packed tighter than McConaughey's Polo shirts.

This year, you'll be prepared. You will plan ahead. To help you in your endeavor to make this New Year's Eve a whole lot better than the one you spent at the Homeplate Tavern with your cousin, we've put together a directory of DJs spinning nonstop Saturday night.

Mirroring its redneck cousin in Olympia, this party will include a balloon drop and PBR toast at midnight, as well as a night of country and rock tunes. 7 p.m., $10.
