As far as I know there is only one radio station playing nothing but Pacific Northwest hip-hop 24/7/365. I'm talking about tacarmyradio.com. The station is run by I-Ballz, who is a member of Blue Nose Music. I-Ballz is very open to supporting all local talent, so hit him up if ya want yo music to be played on the station.

On the station's website you can also order the Tac Army Compilation CDs. These albums are a good way to experience the broad range of styles and artists we have in our region. One of the main ways to support the scene is simply by listening to this radio station - so do it!

Knokturnal Decipher is an artist from Tacoma who is making moves. He recently opened for Brotha Lynch Hung at the California Club (5604 E Portland Ave., Tacoma). Knokturnal Decipher is quite The Man from Tacoma. He is well known for his skills on the basketball court as well as on the mic. For those who don't know, Knokturnal Decipher is none other than Dontay Harris - one of the most celebrated ballplayers to ever come out of Tacoma. He kicked ass at Mt. Tahoma High School before going on to play college and then pro ball. Harris got to play professionally in Europe and then eventually came back and played on Tacoma's professional basketball team. He ended up becoming the International Basketball League's all-time leading scorer and was a four-time all-star. Harris has even played for the Harlem Globetrotters! Ya can check out Knokturnal's music at  reverbnation.com/knokturnaldecipher. He also has a mixtape on Datpiff available for download.

Speaking of the California Club, it cracks every Thursday with DJ Gerze and Chris Crayzie running the show. Thursday is also a big night at Hacienda Real (13021 Pacific Ave., Tacoma), which is the new name for El Perron - same location, same vibe, same good people, and same good prices. Thursdays at Hacienda Real are run by $krilla, one of the main promoters in the 253. The good folks at Hacienda Real remodeled the inside a bit but it still has that grimy, Spanaway charm. Thursday nights are definitely some of the most exciting nights in the city.
