Three Quarter Minus has the musical spectrum covered. With over five hours of original music and covers in the band's repertoire, fans can practice live-music longevity. No wussy 45-minute-to-two-hour sets here, these boys will give you what you love ... all ...  night ... long.

Originals created by longtime musicians and friends Jeremy Duncan, Mike Randolph and Jim "Diesel" Hite fulfill listener's music taste buds with their heavy plugged-in guitar undertones and dramatic drums. Influenced by bands like Korn, Tool and Slipknot, one can't help but rock out to every electrifying beat as the vocals are delivered with hardcore passion.

After talking music for a moment, I prod Diesel for some inside info.

Diesel is adorable as he confides that he and his band may be rough on the outside, but admittedly do have a soft side.

"We do at least five charity events a year," Diesel tells me.

So what if everyone they have met for these charity events have come through his "family" of Harley Davidson riders? Even those with a rough exterior can have a soft heart, something Diesel has proven with his charity work.

"We're not rock stars or rich by any means, but anything we can help with, we'll do," says Diesel.

Raising awareness and funds for everything from breast cancer research to a local children's hospital, Three Quarter Minus will put on a show to support whatever they can.

One of their favorite events, done every year for the past four years, is "Phil Fest," which provides items to those in need. "Last year we had everyone bring sleeping bags and clothes for the homeless," Diesel says.

Diesel proves his tough exterior is just a shell as he briefly describes his plans for this weekend: "My daughter wants her room painted pink with purple kitty cats. I took her to Home Depot to pick out the paint, but I have no idea how to do purple kitty cats. I might have to go to a sign shop and have them create something."

Anyone have purple kitty cat advice for my dear friend Diesel?

Apart from the pink paint and charity work, Three Quarter Minus' performance includes excellent originals and covers from everything between Credence Clearwater Revival and Godsmack, depending on the crowd.  Experience tunes that will rock your world on April 27 at JR's Hideaway in Belfair or on May 4 at Louie G's in Fife.
