I want to start off by telling all my readers that NWCZradio.com is a great place to hear local music. For some, listening to the radio on your computer might seem a little strange. What's strange to me is the lack of local music on the AM/FM radio. Why not switch it up and listen to a station that truly supports local music and is actually a part of the music community.

NWCZ Radio has many different shows with funny and knowledgeable DJs and on-air personalities. As far as hip-hop goes, it is there too. Just in the last few weeks I have listened to illfightyou, Bruce Leroy, Sic Ill, and Beanz and Rize on NWCZ Radio. They even have Seattle artists stop by. I just caught Continental Soldiers from Seattle on a show promoting its upcoming tour. So, next time ya sitting at yo computer doing stuff, open up NWCZ on another tab and get yo listen on!

Another good spot to hear local music online is Juice radio at www.gojuiceradio.com. This is a hip-hop/R&B station that Q-Dot started. Speaking of Q-Dot, he brings me to Fame Rilla (that was an awkward Segway). Fame is Q-Dot's younger brother and he is more of a rapper and less of a musician than Q. Fame Rilla makes quality club-tracks and some solid hip-hop bangers. His latest video, "Ridin Slow," is on YouTube. It is a Northwest version of some on lean down South, Houston-type hip-Hop. In fact, his flow does sound like it is from the South.

Fame Rilla's newest album, 15 Minutes of Fame, has hints, accents and tones of an Atlanta neighborhood. When he is not channeling his country cousin, he is making hip-pop aimed at pleasing the ladies. The album features his often time collaborator A.K.A., Q-Dot, Latin Rose and a few artists I was unfamiliar with. Fame Rilla is a polished artist who has been flirting with national play the last year. Go to www.famerilla.bandcamp.com and download his entire catalogue for free. Ya can catch him at this month's Word 3rd Thursday, Dec 20 at New Frontier Lounge. The show's only $3, and ladies get in free. There are $3 beers and wells all night long. #makeitbang
