Tis the season to get eatin'! I suggest you do a little extra cardio at the gym this week and attempt to hit up some of the foodie-themed festivities this weekend. The South Sound has a plethora of excuses to overindulge from fundraisers to wine walks, heck, there's even extra calories being presented in matrimony with physical activity. Check it:

The Korean Women's Association hosts their 3rd annual Taste of Korea, themed "Nourishing Community Unity" Saturday, May 19, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Festivities include traditional Korean food fare presented buffet style. Live performances will be on site as well as guest speakers, including James Beard nominated, Chef Rachel Yang and KING-TV's Michelle Li serving as emcee.  This gathering is free to attend but reservation on Eventbrite is required.  Star Center, 3873 S. 66th St.

Tacoma's Harmon Taproom is getting a fresh new look and is not only rebranding their logo and merch but experimenting with some of their OG brew recipes to be imbibed by the masses. And, for those not in the know, every Thursday starting at 4 p.m., lovers of all things hops can get a behind-the-scenes peek with a tour of the facilities for a measly $10, and that includes a flight of their flagship beers. While we are on the subject of beer, Odd Otter Brewing Company proves that being healthy and loving beer aren't mutually exclusive with their Yoga + Beer series. Join Odd Otter Saturday, April 28, at 10 a.m. with $15 in hand and enjoy an hour of forward-facing dog (or whatever those yoga kids are up to) followed by a refreshing pint of beer or cider. Celebrate all things Norwegian at the Norwegian Heritage Festival this Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pacific Lutheran University invites folks to revel in a matrimony of market, music and munchies. Dive into ertesuppe (pea soup), Norwegian hot dogs, cream pudding and baked goods galore. One need not be of Norwegian descent to enjoy. This event is kid-friendly. Windmill Gardens' Kids Thyme series knows how to get those munchkins enthusiastic about gardening. On Sunday, April 29, at 1 p.m., they present a Plant a Pizza Garden workshop for mini lovers of all things culinary. This course is appropriate for the minis ages 3 to 10 years old and the $12 fee includes all the goodies needed to plant those veggies and herbs needed to craft a truly homemade pizza pie. 16009 60th St. E., Sumner, windmillgarden.com

The 2nd annual Hilltop Wine Walk takes place Saturday, April 28, from 4-7 p.m. Begin your fermented boozy grape juice journey at Marconi Chiropractic and Wellness and stroll through the Hilltop business district. There will be silent auctions and raffles throughout and the $25 ticket price includes a commemorative wine glass, 13 taster tickets good for one ounce pours, and a passport with a list of participating businesses and wines being sampled.
