UPDATE: Applini's closed.

Family-friendly restaurant and all-ages entertainment venue Applini's Two Clean and Sober Club offers daily specials like spaghetti and meatballs, Salisbury steak and meatloaf sandwiches to augment the American fare menu. Like the name implies, it's also completely booze free. Grub down on breakfast anytime, grilled burgers, hot dogs, fries, hot and cold sandwiches along with green salads, house-made soups and baked potatoes ($7-$10). Desserts are made in-house. Enjoy fountain drinks, coffee, energy drinks and teas. Interactive fun includes pool tables, arcade games and darts with free bingo games on Wednesday evenings. They have karaoke, and live DJs play dance music Friday nights. Saturday sees live local bands (blues, adult contemporary rock to classic rock and funk). People have been known to tear it up on the dance floor. There's a $5 cover charge Friday and Saturday.

Java Billiards, a family-friendly pool hall in Federal Way, is another alcohol-free venue, with 11 pool tables, Wi-Fi, movies and sporting events on the big screen, foosball, Halo 3 and X-Box 360 gaming, classic arcade-style games like Ms. Pac-Man, café seating and live music on occasion. Fountain drinks, espresso, Italian sodas, energy drinks, smoothies and milkshakes will quench your thirst. Snack bar menu includes egg rolls, mini pizza, hot dogs, hot links, polish dog and pretzels.
