This first sentence took me ten minutes to write.  For 10 amazingly beautiful minutes I stared at my notes while daydreaming about Celebrity Cake Studio's butter cream frosting, German chocolate cake and holiday cookies.

It certainly didn't help that while I sat and chatted with Odette D'Aniello, Celebrity Cake Studio's co-owner, she sipped on some festive-spiced tea that sent my nose into an oddly comforting tizzy.  Admittedly, D'Aniello's welcoming personality only made things worse.  My surroundings did nothing but make me wish for Christmastime to get here sooner ... and by "sooner" I mean immediately.

This was all so distracting, as I'm sure you understand.  How on earth is anyone supposed to focus on writing when all they can think about is the deliciously sweet goodness derived from a common mixture of butter, sugar, flour and eggs?

Somehow, I refocus.

Entering her 13th year as co-owner of Celebrity Cake Studio, alongside her sister, Mary Ann Quitugua, D'Aniello celebrates her business' success by making said business bigger, better and more inclusive.

In early 2012 D'Aniello and Quitugua plan to move from their current space inside Freighthouse Square to a different building, located at 314 East 26th Street in Tacoma.

"We'll have a much bigger space that will include seating for dining and a showroom," D'Aniello tells me of the plans.  The seating will come in handy as cake and coffee will be sold to nosh on while visiting the bakery, and D'Aniello plans to possibly add some savory items to the new menu as well.

What will the new savories consist of?  D'Aniello wouldn't tell me.  In a way I'm grateful, as it only would have distracted me more.

During the winter holidays Celebrity Cake Studio is hustling and bustling with orders for cookie platters, Christmas cakes and Yule Logs.

D'Aniello creates her Yule Logs with a homemade sponge cake, chocolate ganache filling and buttercream frosting.  Cookie platters, the bakery's most popular holiday order, consist of decorated sugar cookies, thumbprints, gingerbread cookies, butter cookies and Russian tea cookies - making them the perfect item for businesses to share with employees and clients.

As if moving retail sites and a quickly approaching holiday season aren't enough for the D'Aniello/Quitugua sister duo, recently Celebrity Cake Studio took on another enterprise - bringing a "cake mobile" into their bakery portfolio.

"We use it for promotions by going to events and providing logo products," D'Aniello explains.

Essentially, the truck shows up to your event and brings yummy baked goods decorated with a chosen theme.  Awesome.

Oh man! I should have my own Celebrity Cake Studio cake truck event!  Cupcakes, petit-fours, cookies and cakes served alongside a main course of cake pops, lemon bars and brownies.  Then I'll invite no one to my event.  It will all be for ME.

Dammit!  Distracted again!

Desserts, you may foil me now, but just wait ... I have a fork and I'm not afraid to use it.
