An album entitled Teen Dream can seemingly lead to only two things: bubblegum pop stars or angsty pop-punk sensations.  Thankfully, Beach House's most recent album, the band's first on Sub Pop, delivers on neither.  Instead, listeners are offered a seamless mix of ambient, indie-pop perfection.  Fans that fell in love with the simple keyboard riffs of the duo's past two albums will not be disappointed.  The familiar drum machine and whispery vocals of Victoria Legrand weave throughout the album, offering a rich listening experience that deepens as the album progresses.

Teen Dream offers an effortless and more mature sound from a band that continues to create endearing lyrics that build from simple melodies.  Lyric and melodic gems like the tracks "Lover of Mine" and "Take Care" can be found throughout the album

Listeners who found themselves uninterested in more than the title tracks from the band's past two albums will be happy to discover that each track on Teen Dream delivers an even lovelier experience, making a person wish the album would continue forever.
