SEATTLE (AP) - A former Army Ranger convicted of leading a takeover-style bank holdup in 2006 in Washington state has pleaded guilty to trying to hire a hit man to kill a federal prosecutor.

Luke Sommer also pleaded guilty Monday to attacking a robbery co-defendant because he thought the man had ratted him out. The 22-year-old Peachland, British Columbia, resident pleaded guilty in federal court to assault with a deadly weapon and solicitation of a crime of violence.

He faces 20 years on top of the 24-year prison sentence he received in the robbery of a Tacoma branch of Bank of America.

Court documents say Sommer offered an undercover FBI agent as much as $20,000 to kill the prosecutor last March.
